What should I wear?
Dress to your comfort level. Deep tissue techniques are best received with little to no clothing but your therapist can always work around any clothing you choose to leave on during your session.
Do I need to shave my body hair?
Totally up to you! Your therapist does not care if you have body hair and it does not affect your massage.
What add on services do you offer?
Cupping, Gua Sha scraping, topical analgesics and red light therapy are all available for add on during your session. If you have questions about what to expect, please reach out. Your therapist will also explain all modalities to you before your session.
Should I work out after my massage?
No! It is recommended to relax for 24-48 hours after deep tissue work. Allow your muscles to relax and adjust to the new length and adhesion breakdown that just occurred from the massage session.
How often do I need massage?
This depends on your body! Your therapist will recommend a treatment plan for you after your initial session. However, monthly deep tissue massage can be very beneficial to maintain healthy muscle tissue and ensure you are at your best.
What if I have a new tattoo?
Not a big deal! Your therapist can work around any new piercings, tattoos or small bruises as long as everything is within your comfort level. We suggest, if possible to have the area covered during your session with a bandage or gauze.
What if I have allergies?
Please note all allergies on your intake form prior to your session. All creams and detergents used at Balanced Body are hypoallergenic.
